About us

Crisis is the national charity for people facing homelessness. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it.

This is your opportunity to join an ambitious and high-performing Policy and External Affairs team. Our exciting programme of campaigns and public affairs influencing builds on the in-depth policy and research findings within Crisis’ plan to end homelessness, Everybody In: How to end homelessness in Great Britain. In 2021 we’ll be campaigning to ensure no one becomes homeless or is at risk of deportation because of their immigration status, and the long-term changes needed to ensure there is a Home for All as we emerge from the coronavirus pandemic.

This is your chance to be a part of this incredible movement for change.

About the role

As Senior Campaigns and Public Affairs, you will play an integral part in linking our public affairs and campaigns teams. The role will lead on key areas of our influencing strategy to help people out of homelessness and campaign for the changes needed to solve it altogether. You’ll be responsible for working across the policy and campaigns team to drive forward our political influencing work alongside public campaigning and lobbying work with key decision-makers.

About you

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced campaigner or public affairs professional, with a track record of leading on and delivering high profile, policy focused campaigns and political influencing aimed at government. You’ll have an excellent understanding of the political and policy making process, and outstanding communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a persuasive manner. And you’ll be highly motivated to achieve change, and to help us end homelessness, once and for all.

Benefits
As a member of the team you will have access to a wide range of employee benefits including:

  • Interest free loans to purchase a train season ticket or a bike or for a deposit to secure a tenancy
  • Mandatory pension scheme, with an employer contribution of 8.5%
  • 25 days’ annual leave which increases with service to 28 days

Alongside our excellent staff benefits, we will support your on-going development to build your skills, experience and career.
