An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Progression Team at our Edinburgh Skylight as Progression Coach.
About the role
As Progression Coach, you will join an experienced, dynamic team dedicated to ending homelessness for the people we work with. Working in collaboration with partnering agencies, Progression Coaches work closely with members to provide information, guidance, and provide short interventions and coaching to prevent, improve and end their homelessness.
This is a fixed term role for 18 months.
The successful candidate will
- be passionate and dedicated about ending homelessness
- have a good knowledge of Scottish housing and homelessness legislation
- have a good knowledge of issues affecting homeless people, including housing, welfare issues, substance misuse, offending behaviour and social isolation
- have a proven track record of successfully using coaching, IAG or psychologically informed approaches with people who have experience homelessness
- skills and experience in partnership working and networking
- be flexible and adaptable to change
- be a strong team player, able to use their own initiative and reflect on their own practice
You may have previous experience in support work in the public sector or third sector with a focus on supporting marginalised people groups.
