About us

Crisis is the national charity for homeless people. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it.

Crisis Skylight Oxford is located in the Old Fire Station in the centre of the city. We offer one to one coaching support from a team of coaches who work with people around their housing needs and anything else that will support them to end their homelessness. We also offer a range of creative classes and learning support. Over Christmas we will be offering a range of services and activities to our members to support them during the festive period

Job title: Events Coordinator (known internally as Christmas Coordinator)

About the role

As Christmas Coordinator, you will develop and lead the Crisis at Christmas Events for Crisis Skylight Oxford. This will include coordinating a team of volunteers to run a delivery service throughout December and January to provide food and items to those who need it most. You will also be supporting the running of events throughout the Christmas period, including our carol concert, festive breakfasts, and wellbeing days for our members.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have experience of working with and providing support to socially excluded individuals and groups to promote and encourage inclusion; you will also have experience of working with volunteers in a supervisory capacity.

You will have well-developed interpersonal skills, the ability to motivate others and good leadership skills. You will be able to work within a team but also able to take the initiative and manage your own time. As a Christmas Coordinator, you will be able to communicate at all levels, both in writing and orally and as a result will be excellent at networking and sourcing opportunities and items for an event. 

You will have good IT skills with experience of using Microsoft Office software, in particular Word and Excel and able to record information accurately on a database. Due to the nature of this role, you must be available to work during the festive period – the week before Christmas Day, and the days in between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

You may have experience in; Events, Administration, Volunteer Management
